I have resisted getting an Apple Watch for years as quite frankly I don’t want the ability to see all my calls and receive or reply to messages at all times but as a fitness fanatic, I did want the ability to track my workouts / heartrate / activity etc. So I settled on a Fitbit Versa 2. However, with the release of the new Fitbit sense with advanced features I went back and forth between that and the Apple Watch 6 – especially as the price gap was not exactly huge; and ultimately went with Apple for the simple reason that I am a huge Peloton fan and this is compatible with that app so I can get workout metrics when on the road.

It is sleek and stylish , though personally and this is just a me thing – I have tiny wrists and would have preferred a slightly smaller screen as it takes up near the entire side of my wrist and its not as comfortable as it could be. Set up is relatively easy; most of the set up guide is embedded in the Tips App on Apple or you can just google it. I found it had a bunch of redundant apps already preloaded so I spent some time erasing some and adding others – everyone wants different things – I don’t want a world clock, an app to make emojis or multiple stop watches, but I loved the fact that I could add Starbucks, Peloton and Calm – even though it has its own mindfulness app.

The only two things I could really see that the Sense has and this does not, is the skin temperature sensor and electrodermal activity assessor which helps track and manage stress levels. The new Apple watch now has monitoring for blood oxygen saturation which is very accurate and as an avid hiker I love this but I can also see that now, more than ever with Covid, this could be a very useful tool; and has added a sleep tracking feature. The electrocardiogram feature is fascinating too.

I am not sure I love the associated Fitness app – it shows active calories burned, exercise and how much time you stand, but I dislike the fact that you cannot add specific workouts that you have done, at least not that I can see – its pretty uninspired. I prefer the basic health app that comes on the phone – this is very comprehensive and after using with the watch, it becomes a comprehensive roadmap to your health . The heart health in particular shows your heart rate, ECG, variability, resting heart rate and walking heart rate average and you can set up notifications for low and high heart rate as well as irregular rhythm.

The sleep tracker is far more accurate for me with this watch and it includes sleep graphs and analysis, a wake up phase, and you could also add in the premium app which is free for 7 days then $30 a year thereafter ., includes trends, sleep notes, store detection, a sleep aid and online back up of your data.

I think personally, if Peloton had compatibility with the Fitbit I might have gone that route, but that said, there is so much this can do, it might just take time to get used to and figure out all the features. Overall I am a fan think there is lots more to discover about this watch

I got this for my wife’s birthday and every day she’s finding new features she didn’t know about. She’s had a blast learning about it and using it. Apple products are always sturdy and very well organized.

I really like the product. I’m a first time iwatch person. I’m a medical professional and like the pedometer, HR, exercise, and blood saturation monitoring. There is only $100 difference in the cellular watch that can be added to my plan for $10 /month. This watch would be really great for my mother as she has fallen twice in the last month and a history of double bypass heart surgery. Her heart doctor just cleared her for another year. I don’t think emergency services need to be called automatically, the phone should ask you if you need it or maybe figure out the velocity of impact that automatically prompts these services. They are a critical resource that shouldn’t be squandered. But alas, my mother has held fast to her home button on her iPhone 6 the highest version is 12.4 with no more updates! I have an iPhone X that is keeping up mdated but can’t do 5g, which will effect updates in the future. The difference between setting her up with a plus vs giving her my iPhone X is nil. With me and a 12 pro~ $450; iwatch 5 for me and iwatch 6 for her.

I got this for my birthday & I love it!! The watch bands are so easy to put on & take off so you can interchange a watch band, they just slide in. Very easy to setup up & pair to your phone & start using. Also a lot of clock faces to pick from to from. I love that when I’m busy I can look at my wrist to see who’s calling & texting & the fact that I can answer the phone on the watch & talk to who’s calling me. Also love that I can also speak my text back to the person & hit send on the watch. Works awesome!!

I am so happy with the watch. It’s my first smart watch and I believe I bought the right one. I love that I can measure the heart rate and Blood O2, I can use my pictures as a background and see my memories through the day, the battery last all day. To be able to make a call without the phone it’s very convenient and that saved me the other day when I left my phone and key inside the car and the doors were locked, without the phone I would had panicked. The only thing that I didn’t like was the band but that was a easy fix I got a leather band in black and I am happy with the result.
